Can Do calculates the so-called Performance for each project, which behaves exactly like the Schedule Performance Index (SPI).

SPI KPI (1)

Formula:

  • EV (Earned Value): The value of the work actually performed up to a specific point in time.
  • PV (Planned Value): The planned value of the work up to that point.

This means comparing all reported work up to yesterday with all planned work up to yesterday.

SPI = 100%: Actual work equals planned work.

SPI > 100%: More work has been done than planned.

SPI < 100%): Less work has been done than planned.

The PDC field name is: PMO.PROJECT.RATIO.PERFORMANCE

Currently, this field is not displayed in the standard apps but is available in the new Can Do BI dashboards.

performance_graf1a

Can Do BI: Each line represents a project, and the zones are displayed as red and blue lines. No project has a performance over 100%.

performance_graf2

Can Do BI: Each circle represents a project. The score is compared to the performance. Projects on the left have poor performance, but the important projects (with large circle sizes) are on the right.

performance_graf3

Can Do BI: Daily development of performance across all projects in a portfolio or program.

performance_graf4

Can Do BI: The temporal trend for the projects in a portfolio or program. The values are decreasing, indicating that resources are being more utilized in other projects.
